Congratulations David Haworth of the Staybridge Suites – St. George! You are our October 2019 InnTrusted Employee of the Month!

David has just celebrated his first year with us and this hotel couldn’t have come this far without this very dedicated and talented engineer. From maintenance, to breakfast, to housekeeping, to front desk and sales you won’t find an employee who isn’t grateful each day to have David on our staff.

Jessica McKelley, Director of Sales:

David is a particularly special employee. He has an immense amount of love and care for this hotel, our guests and our colleagues. He is quick to respond to requests and gives unparalleled customer service to our guests. So many of our guests consider him family, he makes time to chat with everyone, even in passing in hallways. He takes a vested interest in our guests, suggesting singing Happy Birthday, get well cards and letting us know about what is happening in the lives of our guests because he truly values them all as family. When Staybridge released the Brand Experience training the first person I went to was David, because these are things that he naturally does. I thought he would love this training because it showcases and encourages his existing behavior and level of dedication to our hotel. David is possibly one of our chattiest employees, but therein lies his strength, his genuine compassion for others, his friendly attitude, can do spirit and personability that is enviable. David works incredibly hard to improve himself and carries too much responsibility and stress from the hotel, we often remind him to relax because he is doing a great job. Even still he tries to learn efficiency with computers, and every system we have in place at the hotel to better himself, how he leads and manages. Often taking time at home to try to learn more or calling department heads with ideas to improve or information he wants to make sure is being passed along. David has personally helped me repair a leak in my roof on his day off. He has a big heart and cares so much, he is quick to put himself out there, volunteer to help and go above and beyond. Usually his days end with his wife finishing her shift and waiting for him, because if he could just have five minutes more, he could finish this project, or fix this issue, or reach out to this vendor. He always just wants to get a little more done, push a little more, and try a little harder. And it is incredibly endearing, he just cares so much, about each individual staff member, about service scores, brand standards, each room, each PTAC, and every guest. I fully believe we can attribute so many of our glowing guest reviews to David and his never-ending concern and pride in his work. As I write this out, I remember his interview, David came in with a physical copy of every certification he possesses, a list of vendor contacts and hotel specific equipment he had experience with and roughly a dozen pages of TripAdvisor reviews mentioning him by name. He leaves a powerful, positive and incredibly prepared impact, and that is truly who David is, positive, caring, skilled and kind.

Jessie Riddle, GM:

I know there are so many amazing qualities that David has, and I am still learning just how much this one employee can do that makes this hotel so successful. David is an amazing part of this team and a big reason why this hotel is as successful as it is and running so smoothly. David is always there to lend a helping hand with a great smile and positive attitude while going above and beyond. He is a team player and the guest love him too. David handles his maintenance department like a true leader. He is very dedicated and ways every decision as to what is best for the hotel, the company and guests. He handles the hiring and training of his department on his own as well as the houseman team as well. With the opening on a new hotel the daily things that must be documented and followed up on are tremendous. He never lets anything slip through the cracks and follows up on all items. David has a great ability to organize, request help on warranty items and communicate very effectively to the construction team, corporate office and our team on the ground so that everyone is aware of what is going on with any said item of concern in the maintenance area. David takes great pride in making sure that the hotel is immaculate when it comes to cleanliness and repair. Even on his days off he is quick to respond if there is problem or challenge that can’t be handled directly by his team and we always know he will be there if we must get hold of him. David is always willing to lend a hand and even on his days off he is helping by being on call with a positive attitude and great customer service. I love the way he tells guest that he is their Chief Engineer and makes it very personable and one of our guest favorites. David is also very conscious of his spending and costs even using his own discount for being a retired member of the US Airforce to save money for the company when shopping for parts.

Tami, Breakfast Manager

David is always a go getter. Always willing to lend a hand at anytime even when he is running with 100 things to get done. David is a team player, and his attitude at work is very spot on. I feel honored to work with David. We couldn’t do it without him, his hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated.

During breakfast times, David is always willing to help wash dishes, clear tables and talk with guest and help in any way he can. He is always watching and looking for ways to help anyone in need. Recently between David and I, we took on the responsibility of making sure some guests who had to catch their “school bus or taxi” early in the morning didn’t miss their ride to school and had their pass they would need. They would watch for the bus and ensure that the kids, who loved to play games on the business computer, would get to school on time. While this wasn’t something anyone asked us to do, we saw a need and made sure the best interest of the kids were taken care of.

Dre, AGM

David has been very knowledgeable about everything that makes the building stand and work. He takes the weight of anything that happens to the hotel’s condition on his shoulders. Sometimes he even takes it personal like it’s his own home which is the type of attitude you need from a chief engineer in order to keep the building running and in great condition. He never stops moving physically or mentally and hasn’t been stumped with any problem or issues we have faced since opening. He is really dedicated to this building and to the company as his intentions is to please both the owners and his colleagues with his work and his work has said it all.

Below are just a few of the comments we have received from our guests regarding David:

**Shout out to David, Chief Engineer who does whatever is needed to make sure each guest is treated like royalty.

**David the engineer gave us a tour of the larger suite so that we would know what to expect when we come back with our kids.

**Staff was very friendly and helpful. David knew us by name.

David Haworth is very deserving to be InnTrusted’s employee of the month for October and we are proud to nominate him for this recognition. Thank you, David, for all you do each day to help your team, the guests and the company be the best it can be.
