Joe started out as a part time maintenance person and since has moved to full time a few years ago. Joe is currently my only maintenance person and is doing a fantastic job. He is loyal and dedicated to our hotel and his job!

Joe is a problem solver and always works with his eyes and ears open. He is always searching for tasks that need to be completed. He is an avid note taker, he does this so that nothing gets overlooked or forgotten.  He is always the first to volunteer to call or follow up with a contractor to get warranty or service work scheduled and done around the hotel. If the work is not up to our standards, he will hold them accountable until it is!

Joe is dedicated and dependable. I know he will be here whenever the hotel needs him and he is quick to come up with solutions to keep us up and running smoothly! Joe will come in early or stay late to make sure the job is completed and done right the first time. When he is on call, he is always available to answer his phone and promptly shows up at the hotel to fix any maintenance issues that may come up.

I know that anytime I ask Joe to complete a task, he will get it done. I don’t need to constantly follow up or remind him. He takes pride in a job well done, and in knowing that I can trust him with tasks done right the first time. Joe is the first person to help when an order or delivery arrives on property. He does his best to help get it put away and out of the guests view. He is always thinking of how what the hotel has going on will affect the guests experience.

He has also inspected rooms, helped in laundry, helped at the desk and in the breakfast area when we are busy in those areas throughout the year! It’s so nice that employees in other departments know they can rely on him to help if help is needed! Joe really does see the bigger picture of the hotel and knows that we are a team with the same goal each day; to make sure the guests have an outstanding stay!!

Joe and I take time every day to communicate about what needs done around the hotel and what solutions we can come up with together to get the best results. I really like that we are in this routine because it helps me stay up to date on what is happening around the hotel, as far as maintenance is concerned, and what tasks need attention. Our conversations also confirm for me daily that I can really depend on and trust in Joe to complete tasks and follow up so we are on the same page.

When I was struggling with high turnover at the desk at the beginning of this year, Joe had my back and made sure to continue to do his best everyday so that I could focus on rebuilding my front desk staff. He told me he would make sure to take care of whatever comes up so that I could focus on what I needed to do. He communicated through texts, emails, and at shift change when I saw him in person so that I could still stay up to date on the maintenance department and anything he needed from me. This was a huge relief during those months when all I felt like I did was work and sleep.

Joe keeps up on the current standards and makes sure that the hotel is up to date on them as well. He knows how important it is for the hotel to be running according to the standards for inspections. When we do get inspected, he actively makes himself available to assist with anything we might need him for. Joe likes to stay busy and get as much completed as he can along with looking ahead at what needs done for the next work day!

I believe that Joe is the definition of what an Inntrusted Employee of the Month should be! He does everything in his power to ensure that the guests have the best stay every time by ensuring that the hotel is functioning properly.
