Thank you so much to all the managers who submitted an Employee of the Month for November! This month was particularly tough to pick the top Employee, and we were reminded how very fortunate and honored we are to work with such amazing individuals who truly fulfill our Mission Statement. Darla McKean is no exception! I (Hillary) recently responded to some reviews on Expedia and after only responding to a dozen, I had come across 5 reviews that mentioned Darla by name. Here are some ways she is building “lasting and memorable relationships” each and every day:

  • Darla has been employed with us since 8.18.2010 and works 6 days a week, every week as the Executive Breakfast Attendant.
  • Darla has made countless baby blankets for our frequent return guests who are expecting OR whose wife’s are expecting. She even goes out of her way to send “Thinking of you” cards to guests that she hasn’t seen in a while. And in return has made valued friendships.
  • Darla makes it a personal goal to touch every table and greet every guest.
  • When meeting new people Darla listens and engages in meaningful conversations, that when that guest returns Darla remembers them by name and remembers the conversation that they had. By her doing this she builds loyal guests by making them feel welcomed, valued and wanted.
  • Darla has the Gift of Gab. Darla’s personality and how she makes people feel is incomparable to anyone else. She genuinely cares about you as a person.
  • Darla’s love for people is the same regardless if you are a guest or a co-worker. She makes it a point to talk to everyone that she encounters. She does NOT know a stranger.
  • There are over 150 guest reviews mentioning Darla and the outstanding customer service that she provides to our guests. Some guests return just to see Darla in breakfast.Thank you Darla! We are touched by your commitment to our guests and to our mission statement.
