Congratulations Marlene Goddard of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Pocatello! You are our February 2019 InnTrusted Employee of the Month!

Marlene joined the Holiday Inn Express Team June of 2016 and has been a great addition to our team! Marlene is not your typical run of the mill gals, you wouldn’t know it with all the energy and spunk in her but she’s in her late 60’s and let’s nothing hold her back! Her captivating friendly smile, laughter, kindness and hard work ethic are just a few things that best describe Marlene.

You can always count on Marlene to keep spirts high, even on busy sell out weekends knowing that every hide away bed will be used; the day ahead will be a busy one. One of the many ways Marlene helps keeping the staff moral on the up and up is by sharing her excellent culinary skills! She is quite the cook and loves to share her homemade baked goods with everyone, from cookies, cupcakes and breads she can do it all! We all love her treats which make for a great way to start any work day.

Marlene is a true ambassador of our Inntrusted core principals. However, she best embodies compassion and her commitment by her example to everyone around her. Not only is she compassionate to her staff and those around her but she is also committed to the success of our hotel and the housekeeping department. Frequently before finishing her day, Marlene checks in with the head housekeeper asking if anyone needs help or if anything more can be done that day. Our head housekeeper or anyone else checking her rooms often times will find notes left by Marlene sharing words of encouragement and laughter and anything else to brighten your day!

And here are a few comments from her head housekeeper Angela: Marlene has been with me for a couple of years now. She has become the mom of the housekeeping department. Every day, she will volunteer her time on her days off even if she worked 10 days straight, because she couldn’t stand if the staff would have had a bad day without her. When you are having a bad day, she will go out of her way to ask you how you are. I have personally think of Marlene as guardian angel with the most caring heart that touches everyone around her.
